Practical Medicine launches membership for its users – completely free of charge

2022/11/08

PraktiskMedicin.se has a new look. For the update, users’ wishes have been listened to and new practical features have been added, such as tailored newsletters, calculators and the possibility to print treatment summaries. Doctors and healthcare professionals can now easily register as members via BankID and access all the news – free of charge.

Add Health Media, the company behind Praktisk Medicin, is now launching a completely new design to modernise PraktiskMedicin.se and make it an even more convenient and important tool for healthcare professionals.

The big news is that it offers the option of a membership. For smooth and secure handling of personal data, registration and login is done via BankID. Membership is free of charge and gives access to exclusive material and practical features, which have been requested by users. For example, a range of clinically relevant guides are available to enable users to update themselves quickly and easily.

– I’m delighted with this update we’re making and believe it will give the target audience more reasons to use Practical Medicine when they need support in their everyday clinical lives. As a doctor, I also know that the need for guidebooks and calculators is great in everyday work, which is why I am particularly pleased that we can offer a large number of updated ones,” says Sofia Åkerlund, leg. doctor and editor-in-chief of Praktisk Medicin.

Members will thus also have access to medically up-to-date calculators, ready to be used in everyday clinical practice. These are used every day in healthcare to calculate, for example, how to administer fluids to a burn victim or who should be administered anticoagulants. In addition, tailored newsletters are offered where members, by entering their various areas of interest, will be able to receive the latest publications in selected fields directly to their inbox.

PM Academy training courses are both valued and knowledge enhancing for doctors and healthcare professionals. Previously under their own domain, the courses are now integrated into the site for better accessibility.

– A major benefit of membership is that you can now make even greater use of Practical Medicine by having many practical functions close at hand and in one place. My hope is that it will provide even greater value for users and that the use of Practical Medicine will spread even more widely in healthcare,” says Sofia Åkerlund.

Those who do not wish to activate a membership can still read the more than 1000 treatment overviews, medical news and test their knowledge in the interactive training courses.
