The specialist doctor Rebecka Kaplan Sturk will be acting editor-in-chief of PM

PraktiskMedicin.se (PM), which is one of Sweden’s most visited websites for doctors, gets a new acting editor-in-chief. PM has since 1976 trained and supported doctors with information on how they can treat their patients and today there are 1,000 treatment overviews and most trainings for doctors.

Rebecka Kaplan Sturk is a specialist in obstetrics / gynecology and teaches at Karolinska Institutet and Sophiahemmets University in Stockholm. She also has experience from several different types of writing assignments and is already part of the expert team of reviewing doctors for PM. Rebecka steps into the role of editor-in-chief while regular editor-in-chief Sofia Åkerlund is on parental leave.

– I am very much looking forward to taking on the assignment. My main focus will be to update all treatment overviews so that we can continue to make it easy for doctors to find the knowledge when they need it, says specialist Rebecka Kaplan Sturk, specialist in gynecology / obstetrics and acting. editor-in-chief of Praktisk Medicin.

PM has developed and today has 370,000 unique visitors a month. A large proportion of the doctors who use PM visitors on a daily basis as support in their clinical work.

– In Rebecka, we get a very experienced and competent resource. Already today, she is one of our reviewing doctors for PM, so it feels extra fun that she wants to deepen her commitment and be involved and contribute to our continued development, says Rikard Ekberg, COO at Add Health Media.

In 1976, the general practitioner Bertil Flöistrup created the book PM Praktisk Medicin. Later in the 1990s, general practitioners Mikael Sahlqvist, Lars-Olof Medin and Olle Lyngstam took over and have updated and built on both the book and started the website PraktiskMedicin.se. From 2017, Add Health Media has taken over the baton to continue to develop and update Praktisk Medicin. The PM book 2021 is the 29th edition since 1976.
