The country’s only pure waiting room magazine is still popular with visitors in the waiting rooms and is increasing according to figures from Orvesto 1. Eight out of ten of those who see The Doctor in a Waiting Room also pick up and read the newspaper 2 .
– The figures from Orvesto show that the rumor that print is dead is strongly exaggerated. For us, it is gratifying that the magazine Doktorn is increasing and a proof that it is a perfect medium for the waiting room environment in the country. It is also positive from an advertiser’s point of view, as you can demonstrably continue to safely include our print products in your media planning, says Anders Åker, editor-in-chief.
The doctor is represented in the waiting rooms in the form of a brochure stand, waiting room TV and newspaper. The magazine is published in four issues per year with a circulation of 100,000 copies. The Doctor also includes the country’s largest private medicine and health site, Doktorn.com.
– As editor-in-chief, I work continuously with synergies both internally and externally between our platforms and with us being in the right place, at the right time and for the right person. Although we are looking for a lot of information digitally, the new measurements from Orvesto show that the printed medium is still popular.
The popularity is confirmed in a survey where it was found that over 80 percent who see the magazine Doktorn also read or look in the magazine and that four out of ten who pay attention to the brochure place read or look in a brochure.
– In a changing media landscape, it is important not to go too fast and make too rapid changes without daring to stand behind, and with numbers back up the platforms we have and we are proud that all platforms can show a strong and progressive result, concludes Anders Åker.
The magazine Doktorn is free for visitors to read and take home and free for the receptions to distribute. The magazine is funded through advertisements and the editorial staff consists of independent medical journalists, writers and freelance writers and contains a mix of current news, personal portraits, inspiration and fact-based medical articles.
