FindOut Diagnostic launches Finnish success Promilless 0.2 ‰ in Sweden

Add Health Media’s associated company FindOut Diagnostic is now launching a new alcohol test that will give consumers a simpler and more cost-effective alternative to the conventional exhalation tests. Promilless 0.2 ‰ is based on saliva and is unique in its kind because it is developed for the consumer.

Promilless 0.2 ‰ is an easy-to-use and reliable saliva test strip that quickly shows if you are fit to drive. The test consists of two test strips which, after contact with saliva, indicate within 2 minutes whether the alcohol concentration in the blood falls below or exceeds 0.2 ‰.

Measuring blood alcohol concentration through saliva is a scientifically proven and reliable method. The technology behind the test is based on commonly known biochemical reactions. The biochemical dyes are printed and dispensed on a substrate (the reactive zone of the test) which reacts on contact with saliva to form a dye reaction which gives the user clear information about the test result.

– Promilless 0.2 ‰ has been developed for consumers in the Nordic market. Our customer surveys show that Swedes are responsible and interested in using the patented alcohol test Promilless 0.2 ‰ to test their driving ability, says Petri Särkelä, CEO of Goodwiller Ltd.

Promilless 0.2 ‰ was developed by Goodwiller together with the VTT Technical Research Center of Finland. Since their launch in mid-2017, they have sold over 350,000 tests in Finland with retailers such as the alcohol monopoly Alko, K-Market and pharmacies.

– FindOut AB was chosen as our partner in Sweden due to their unique category knowledge and access to the trade, says Petri.

The manufacturer Goodwiller received a patent for Promilless in the USA last week and has chosen the Swedish market as the first international investment. Promilless 0.2 ‰ is currently being launched by FindOut Diagnostic AB through an exclusive collaboration with the Finnish manufacturer.

– We see that the interest in self-tests is increasing and with Promilless 0.2 ‰ we give the consumer the opportunity to in a simple, fast and reliable way be able to check whether to drive before doing so. The product is designed to fit in your wallet, so you can take Promilless 0.2 ‰ with you in all situations, says Denise Luxenburg Stuifbergen, CEO of FindOut Diagnostic AB.

When used correctly, Promilless 0.2 ‰ is very reliable as it has a self-controlling function that has been developed and patented. This function checks every time the test is used that the test strip works and that the result is reliable. In this way, misleading results are prevented in e.g. incorrect storage of the test or use of the test after the expiry date.

– Right now the product is available online but will soon be available for purchase in physical stores and pharmacies. We are also investigating how we can change materials on the test strips from plastic to cardboard, which makes it even more positive from an environmental point of view, says Denise Luxenburg Stuifbergen.
