This year’s Christmas gift – We support WeEffect

2017/12/22

Together with my colleagues, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the year that has been. Without our advertisers, clinics, partners, suppliers and other important players, we would not have been the Nordic region’s leading media house in medicine, health and well-being.

I look forward with excitement to a new year full of new opportunities. And thank you to all the advertisers and customers – this year too, this year’s Christmas present goes from Add Health Media to the organization We Effect.

We Effect works, among other things, with gender equality and rural development in southern Africa, and issues such as HIV and malnutrition are constantly present. Last year’s Christmas present has had an effect during the year on a number of different fronts where the need is great.

Of the nearly 37 million people living with HIV, an estimated 70 percent live in southern Africa. People living in slum conditions are more vulnerable to infection. Through We Effects housing projects in Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe, knowledge about HIV has increased and sanitary conditions have improved. People have been given information about the importance of contraception, getting tested, and hygiene and sanitation. And boreholes, water pumps and toilets have been built.

In Mozambique, almost half of all children up to the age of five suffer from malnutrition. The Ngauma district in the north of the country is particularly hard hit. There, We Effect works, for example, for increased food safety and knowledge about nutrition. Since July 2016, for example, close to 18,000 women have been trained in cooking nutritious food, just under 14,000 children have received vitamin A supplements and just over 17,000 children have been continuously measured and weighed. Educating five women in nutritious cooking costs SEK 215. Join you and support WeEffect’s work. More can do more!

Thank you for this year and from all over Add Health Media, a Merry Christmas, a Happy Weekend and a Happy New Year!

Brodde Wetter,
